On the way to zero-emission shipping, a fuel cell application is a promising solution. In comparison to stationary applications, fuel cells installed onboard are heavily affected by cruise ship movements and inclinations.
This aspect could have an impact on the safety of the technology used in maritime sector and this is the reason why the NAUTILUS project has realised testing of the fuel cell unit on the inclination pod. This testing was led by Berend van Veldhuizen from the Delft University of Technology at the premises of SolydEra (formerly SOLIDpower) in Italy.
