The International Transportation Electrification Conference (ITEC) is a well-established event promoting advancements in transportation electrification in academic research and industrial applications.
This year's conference will take place from June 19-21, 2024, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Cem Ünlübayir from RWTH Aachen University will present a poster titled "Load Prediction of Ship Load Profiles for Hybrid Marine Energy Management Systems Using Neural Networks." This presentation will be part of Poster Session 2, scheduled for Thursday, June 20, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm CDT (GMT - 5), in the North Ballroom Foyer.
The poster will summarize the innovative approach to enhancing the efficiency of marine energy systems based on the current research conducted under the NAUTILUS project. The core focus of this poster presentation is the utilization of machine learning algorithms to predict the energy demand of a ship based on real operational data. These predictions are a crucial component of ships’ energy management, especially in the performance optimization of hybrid marine energy systems in which multiple sources of energy complement each other. Optimized energy management is a key prerequisite for the optimization of fuel consumption, emission reductions, and cost savings.
