Berend van Veldhuizen from Delft University of Technology (TUD) will represent the NAUTILUS project at Maritime Hybrid, Electric & Hydrogen Fuel Cells Conference that will be held in Bergen in Norway from 25th to 27th October 2022.
On Tuesday 25th October (at 13.45) he will give a presentation on the NAUTILUS project - application of the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) system in a cruise ship at session 3/Fuel cells – maritime application, integration and lifetime considerations.
Berend will give an overview of the progress made in the NAUTILUS project – the way how the suitable fuel cell system for marine use is designed and what experiments are planned to validate the solution for the shipping environment. Also, obstacles and challenges such as smart use of limited space, wave-induced motions that SOFCs are subjected in the marine applications and the use of alternative fuels enabling even greater emission reduction will be outlined.
