The NAUTILUS project is a research project that aims at the development of a low-emission energy system for large passenger ships. The novel system will take care of all heat and power needs of the cruise vessel. The concept consists of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC)-battery hybrid genset integrated with existing Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) generators.
This novel system will cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% and all other diesel engine exhaust gas emission components almost entirely and is one of the steps towards low-emission transport.
To know more, register on the NAUTILUS workshop "Potential and challenges of innovative power systems and synthetic fuels for emission reduction in waterborne transport" that is a Special event of the EFCF conference (5th EUROPEAN SOFC & SOE FORUM 2022) in Lucerne.
