Brief description of the Partner

SolydEra SE_SA (SE) is a dynamic and dedicated SME specialized in high-temperature electro-ceramic applications for energy and gas conversion. With high-temperature membrane reactors as a core competence, the company works as SolydEra’s innovation centre. Located in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland, the company cooperates with many industrial and academic partners. SP focuses its activities on market and product development, generating its revenues both through sales commissions and engineering services. Its competence in system integration of the in-house developed SOFCpower module, the HoTbox™ (HB), gives it a competitive advantage when establishing partnerships with large OEM companies in the combined heat and power market.

Based on more than 10 years of dedicated research in the field of SOFC at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), SE_SA was spun out in the year 2000. For the industrialization of its products on the way to mass production, SE_SA is now an integral part of SOLIDpower S.p.A. in Trento, Italy. SE_SA is presently developing 25kWe large stack modules to meet the large power system market.

Role in the Project

In the NAUTILUS project, SE_SA manufactures and qualifies a 30kW large stack module in T3.3. Moreover, SE_SA provides information to EPFL about SOFC costs for the techno-economic analysis (T7.2) and supports the emission analysis (T7.3), the LCA (T7.4) and dissemination & exploitation activities (WP8).
